What to bring
- Their own food
- Sudden diet changes cause most boarding stomach upsets. Bring your dog’s regular food — portioned if you can — plus a little extra.
- Medications in original bottles
- Labeled bottles with written instructions: dose, time, and what it’s for. We give medications on schedule and chart every dose.
- Vaccine records
- Boarding dogs must be current on rabies, distemper-parvo and bordetella. Send records ahead and we’ll confirm everything before the stay.
- One comfort item
- A worn t-shirt or small blanket that smells like home. Skip the heirloom bedding — laundry happens.
- Leash & collar
- A standard leash and a collar that won’t slip. Retractable leashes stay home.
The first night
- New-place jitters are normal
- Most dogs sniff everything, eat lightly the first evening, and settle by day two. That’s adaptation, not misery.
- Familiar routine helps
- Feeding and turnout run on a predictable schedule — dogs relax into routine quickly.
- Appetite watch
- We track eating, water and stools daily. A dog that’s off feed or unwell gets our attention — we’re a veterinary hospital first.
Care while you’re gone
- Daily checks by animal people
- Our kennel team handles every dog, every day — and knows what “not quite right” looks like.
- Vets under the same roof
- If something comes up — a hot spot, an ear, a missed-dose question — the doctors are steps away, and we call you.
