Your First Visit

New faces are our favorite faces. Here is exactly how a first visit at Oak Grove works — from the first phone call to a plan built around your pet — so the two of you can just walk in relaxed.

welcome here.

Walking in shouldn’t be the hard part.

Most first visits start with one phone call. We’ll find a time that fits your day — and when it’s time, you’ll pull right up to the front of Oak Grove Veterinary Hospital here on Highway 51, come inside, and check in at the front desk.

From there it’s a proper first visit and exam — unhurried and nose to tail — with Dr. Holland or Dr. Cogswell, our small-animal doctors. We get to know your pet, you get to know us, and care gets built around the animal in front of us, not a template.

Your first visit, step by step.

No guesswork and no surprises — this is the whole visit, start to finish.

1 · Book & arrive

Call to create your appointment. On the day, pull into the front of the hospital on Highway 51, come on inside, and check in — we’ll take it from there.

2 · Check in & first exam

We’ll get you and your pet settled, then it’s your initial visit and exam — a full nose-to-tail look, plenty of time for your questions, and a calm first experience for your pet.

3 · Your official OG plan

Before you leave, we put our official OG plan together — with you, our patient, and the doctor all at the table — and start a happy, healthy, friendly, comfortable working relationship that lasts.

Built with youNo pressure

Your records, handled

Been somewhere else first? No problem.

When you book, just tell us the doctor or facility you’ve visited before, if there was one. Then take whichever of these is easiest — we handle the rest.

Bring them in hand

Paper records, a vaccine card, handheld records of any kind — if you’ve got them in hand, you’re welcome to bring them.

Name your last vet

Just give us the previous doctor or facility when you make the appointment.

We’ll track them down

Nothing in hand? We can request your records from anybody you’ve previously visited.

Payment, made easy

Care first. Payment simple.

Good care shouldn’t come with a payment headache. We have access to CareCredit, we work with the major pet medical plans, and we take the cards you already carry — with touchless and remote pay, checking out is the easiest part of the visit.
